RARE Vintage Mitchell Half Bail Spinning Reel. This is a left hand “301” model (right hand wind). This is a 3rd version 301 model…early 1950’s.  The serial appears on the back side plate # C75754 9 (see photo). The unique thing about this reel is the *Mitchell* name on the side plate is upside down. This was done in ERROR, and the Michell company has in fact admitted it was done in error. For the collector, this would be a great reel to add to your collection.
All the functions work very well. Smooth winding retrieve, strong bail, anti reverse and smooth drag. The exterior shows some wear, as you would expect for a reel this old. See photos for a complete description.
