Muncie Pottery 1929 Blue Over Green Katydid Vase # 194-6 Haley Design
Muncie Pottery started production of art pottery in 1919 as the Muncie Clay Products Company. Muncie Pottery started as a subsidiary of the German-American Clay Company. Muncie Pottery like so many of the other American art pottery companies closed its doors as a victim of the depression in 1939.
This 6 inch tall 'Katydid' vase was designed by well known designer Reuben Haley. The katydid design was originally used by consolidated glass but Haley took it with him to Muncie pottery. The deep, rich blue glaze over a pale green accents the design of the vase fairly well. Always sought after and highly collectible arts and crafts vase. Now is your chance to own your own.
Exceptional vase in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no repairs, no scratches to glaze. FREE from crazing. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. The white spots are studio light reflections. Authentic Muncie Pottery. All pictures are original and un-edited.
